In the multi-faceted world of real estate consultancy, establishing a presence in a new region is no small feat. For Christopher Sullivan, Regional Managing Director, the journey to building our Midlands operations from the ground up has been a testament to perseverance, strategic vision, and the power of a dedicated, #OneTeam approach.

The Early Days

Twenty years ago, Chris took a bold step – relocating from London to Birmingham to open a new office. Armed with determination and a vision for growth, he began this journey with a team of one. Shortly after, he was joined by an administrative assistant from London and a local hire, forming the foundation of what would grow into a powerhouse office.

Building a Strong, One Team

Over the years, the Birmingham office has expanded to a team of 35, bolstered by the recruitment of talented professionals and the addition of key directors like Mark Smith, Richard Wyn Morris, Simon Goodrick, and Will Purvis. Together, they cover all core service lines, delivering exceptional value to our clients and solidifying our reputation in the midlands region.

Expanding Services and Client Development

In the early stages, Chris focused on building client relationships by leveraging his London connections and networking locally. These efforts not only brought in work for properties across the Midlands but also fuelled the growth of the office’s capabilities. Today, the Birmingham office offers a diverse range of services, including technical due diligence (TDD), project management, cost management, ESG, dilapidations, plus more – meeting the evolving needs of our clients.

Regional Growth and Impact

What began as a single office in Birmingham has now expanded into multiple locations across the Midlands, including Cambridge and Milton Keynes. This regional network boasts a total of 75 dedicated experts, underscoring our significant impact on the region’s real estate landscape.

A Milestone Worth Celebrating

To mark this incredible milestone, the Birmingham team recently hosted clients and industry contacts at a celebratory event at Warwick Races. Closer to home an internal event at Clays, took place to recognise the contributions of our dedicated team members who have made this journey possible. We took part in some #OneTeam fun, cut cake and reminisced on 20 incredible years.
