As excitement builds for another festive season, we recognise it can also be a challenging time for many. We have always been a company that believes in making a difference and giving back to our communities is especially important as we round off another year.
Whether it be helping the communities we operate in or donating to causes we are passionate about, giving back is engrained into our culture. This has driven us to create a dedicated Charity of the Year programme which sees employees vote for a cause we can all support together that year. This sits alongside our Payroll Giving programme and our commitment to providing pro-bono services where they are needed most. We also proudly continue to work with LandAid as a Foundation Partner; a relationship we have nurtured for over ten years. LandAid works tirelessly to end youth homelessness and we are passionate about supporting and donating to their mission.
Alongside supporting the fantastic charities who work endlessly to support those in need, we also like running our own charitable campaigns. And what better time to do so than the holiday season.
Since the beginning, we have always wanted to say thank you to our valued clients in the festive period, while adding our all together different spin and making a difference; we’ve gifted advent calendars, chocolate bars and even launched a digital Christmas wish campaign when we all spent time apart. Last year you may remember our popular festive campaign where we designed our own branded socks in a fun #HoHoHollis style. We asked the lucky recipients to share a picture of them rocking their new festive footwarmers on social media, and for every picture posted we donated £10/€10 to charity. A great success, we put a smile on our clients and colleagues’ faces while raising money that was donated to six charities across the UK, Ireland and mainland Europe: Leger des Helis, Focus Ireland, Hogar Sí, Berliner Kältehilfe, LandAid and CRASH.
So, what are we doing this year you ask? Well, after the success of last year’s campaign, we are delighted to share that our #HoHoHollis socks are back for a second year running; in three brand new designs too! From Christmas trees to stripes in our iconic orange, make sure you grab your favourite pair and show us on social media, tagging Hollis and #HoHoHollis to help raise as much money as possible for worthy causes. In partnership with our Charity of the Year team, we are proud to be raising money this Winter for Macmillan Cancer Support and the European Association of Cancer Research.
Our Charity of the Year group are also working hard this festive period to finalise our eagerly anticipated winter raffle. A major event in the internal Hollis social calendar, we all look forward to digging deep in exchange for an exciting range of prizes. This comes on top of the £53,000 already raised for our charities of the year and wider group of causes we donate to that are close to #TeamHollis’ hearts.
We were delighted with the success of our #HoHoHollis socks last year and look forward to spreading festive cheer with them again while raising money for worthy causes. In this time of celebration, reflection, and giving back, we wish all our clients, friends and communities, health and happiness this winter and festive season.
