A different approach to social responsibility and sustainability
We know what can be achieved when different specialists work together with a shared focus, and we’re determined to promote sustainability in our sector. By applying our pragmatic, problem-solving approach we’re able to make a real, positive difference for environments, communities, our people and everyone we work with.
Sustainable real estate
Making buildings future proof is integral to optimising real estate performance. The world’s buildings currently account for around a third of all greenhouse gas emissions, according to the UN Environment Programme (UNEP). We recognise our responsibility to drive energy efficiency, protect resources and find innovative ways to deliver on our clients’ sustainability goals.
We’re also determined to create healthy, safe experiences for those that live in, work in and visit any building. We’re members of the UK Green Building Council (UKGBC), and in 2018 joined the Legal Sustainability Alliance (LSA).
Inspiring the next generation
We’re developing the property professionals of the future. Together with Urban Plan UK, Pathways to Property, WCCS, RICS Inspire Future Surveyors, Chartered Surveyors Training Trust (CSTT) and Building People; we’re working to educate and inspire those beginning careers in property, not only because it will enable them to gain the skills and knowledge to succeed, but because their bright and innovative ideas are key to ensuring the long-term success and sustainability of our industry.
We relish the fresh thinking from inquisitive minds on our Apprenticeship and Work Placement Programmes and University Mentoring scheme; all of which provide opportunities to gain valuable hands on experience within our business, whilst carrying out academic studies.
We invest in the broader wellbeing of our people too. We are an accredited Living Wage Employer, ensuring that a hard day’s work receives a fair day’s pay for all our employees. We also have strategies spanning physical, social, emotional and developmental needs, designed so that everyone at Hollis can thrive.
All making a difference together
Getting involved in positive causes and community-based initiatives is a natural part of our problem-solving, teamworking culture. We put time and energy into the local communities of our 24 offices, utilising our skills and expertise to provide pro bono services where they are needed most. We have a Charity of the Year programme, as well as taking part in many National Charity fundraising days. We work with young and disadvantaged groups as a LandAid Foundation Partner, and the high level of participation in our payroll giving scheme has won us the Payroll Giving Award six years running - three Gold awards and three Silver awards.
