We welcome the Scottish Government’s £20 million funding boost to accelerate cladding remediation efforts across the country. This renewed investment brings vital momentum to a crisis that continues to affect thousands of residents and building owners.

We’ve long championed proactive, transparent approaches to building safety. Our teams are already supporting clients through Single Building Assessments and remediation strategies – and this funding allows us to move faster and further.

As Dan Lowe, Senior Project Manager, puts it:

“Real-world evidence that is assessed with fire engineering expertise is the key to delivering real value in terms of life safety. The construction and fire safety sectors must work together to prioritise occupant safety over reactive compliance.”

Dr Benjamin Ralph, Head of Building Safety and Fire, also weighs in:

“Scotland’s fire safety landscape is rapidly evolving. The focus must be on turning assessment into action, whilst avoiding the pitfalls we’ve seen in England. That means scalable strategies, standardisation where possible, and sharing best practice across industry and authorities.”

We remain committed to working collaboratively with government, clients, and communities to deliver safe, compliant buildings across Scotland.
