In a standout contribution to UKGBC’s latest insight on commercial retrofit, Hollis showcases how strategic refurbishment can deliver environmental excellence and longterm value.

Led by Deepika Singhal, Head of ESG and Sustainability, the team delivered a comprehensive retrofit of an 18,000 sq/m early-2000s office building in London. The occupier, driven by ambitious sustainability goals, sought a net zero carbon workspace with top-tier credentials. Hollis responded with a strategy targeting NABERS 4.5-star, BREEAM RFO Excellent, and WELL Gold certifications.

Circular economy principles were embedded throughout- reusing raised access floors, ceiling panels, fan coil units, and glass partitions—limiting embodied carbon to under 225 kgCO₂/m².

The result? A future-proofed asset aligned with the Net Zero Carbon 2050 trajectory and a renewed 15-year lease from a premium occupier.
