We’re committed to celebrating our people and their contributions to the business. Ian Thompson, Chief Financial Officer, has reached a remarkable 30 years’ service. For this impressive achievement, we’ve caught up with Ian to discuss his past three decades in the business and ask some questions.

What was your first role at Hollis and can you recall the actual date?

I joined the Battersea office on 18th April 1994 and am associated with all the other offices. My first role was Financial Controller, and that included responsibility for all operational and IT-related aspects of running the business.

What’s the best thing about working at Hollis?

The opportunities we create for all of our people, and seeing the progress our people make in their careers and personal lives when they grasp those opportunities.

What inspires you most about working in Real Estate?

Aside from the social side of the real estate industry, it’s the role Hollis can play in the significant impact the real estate industry can have on the economy and the environment.

What are you looking forward to next?

Working with the business to further enhance the development of our people and culture and to promote good governance throughout all our operations. Outside of Hollis, I am interested in getting involved with some charitable organisations.

How will you be celebrating?

I marked the date with a celebratory lunch and will continue to celebrate in the coming months by transferring my role and knowledge to the future leaders of Hollis.
