Hollis has strengthened its industrial and logistics service with the appointment of Tony Hynes, former director and head of project management at Chancerygate. He joins after 12 years leading and scaling the developer’s project management function across its head and regional offices.
The hire comes as the sector is expected to grow by close to ten per cent this financial year and now accounts for over 40 per cent of Hollis’ revenue. Chief commercial officer Mark Hampson, who currently leads the sector, described the appointment as key to the firm’s next phase of growth.
"Tony is one of those rare individuals who has literally delivered the market we are now targeting," said Hampson. "At Chancerygate, he didn't just manage projects; he built a project management team that delivered over 70 new-build multi-unit schemes totalling approximately seven million square feet. That operational blueprint is exactly what our clients need as the market pivots."
Over his career, Hynes has overseen more than 70 industrial developments across the UK, with a further two million square feet in the pipeline. His experience spans multi-let estates and bespoke mid-box units. This experience will help Hollis grow in an area that is continuing to attract strong demand and institutional investment.
He previously held client-side roles at SEGRO plc and Brixton plc, delivering new-build, refurbishment and infrastructure projects across major portfolios.
Hynes joins as the market shifts, with demand for large speculative sheds levelling off while mid-box and multi-let urban schemes remain resilient, supported by evolving occupier needs, including data centre and third-party logistics demand.
Hampson noted, " Tony's experience delivering bespoke, complex sheds at scale aligns perfectly with where we see the next three to five years heading. We've just delivered the complex Walker Logistics scheme in Membury, a new-build state-of-the-art shed with genuine architectural merit. We're also active on projects like Hollinwood Junction in Oldham with Langtree and Indurent, and our European team in the Netherlands has also delivered for Panattoni.
"Tony's understanding of complex infrastructure delivery, honed across thousands of acres of industrial land, will help us support clients who are now looking at power-secure sheds and data centre crossover sites," Hampson added. "That skillset is going to be invaluable as our clients grow their new build industrial and logistics footprint."
