Malcolm Hollis is pleased to announce 52 promotions across the business as of 01 May 2019. These promotions are recognition of the hard work and commitment staff have shown to Malcolm Hollis and it is this dedication that has enabled the firm to grow from strength to strength and enjoy outstanding success within the industry. The promotions are also testament to our ethos of creating opportunities for staff.

Congratulations to all those promoted, who are listed below and a summary is as follows:

  • 33 promotions in our regional offices: Ashford, Birmingham, Bristol, Dublin, Glasgow, Liverpool, Manchester, Milton Keynes, Newcastle, Nottingham and Welwyn Garden City
  • 21 promotions in our operations team

Tim Beach, a laser scanning specialist in our Measured Surveys team is promoted to Senior Associate. Tim joined Malcolm Hollis in 2015 and has progressed through the ranks. He works with clients such as Marek Wojciechowski Architects, Workspace Group plc, Clague Architects and Whitbread PLC, amongst others.

Ross Williams is promoted to Associate with colleague Marc Atkins promoted to Senior Chartered Building Surveyor. Both joined the business as graduates with Marc beginning his career with Malcolm Hollis in London before relocating to Birmingham in 2016.

Four promotions to Senior Associate; John Gerrish, Justin Tyson, Will Floyd and Will Pasco. All four have worked with the business for many years acting on behalf of investors, owners and occupiers, including public sector bodies. Specialisms include rights of light and neighbourly matters; technical due diligence, dilapidations and project management. Their combined clients include AEW, Legal & General, LaSalle Investment Management, SEGRO.

Anthony Fallon is promoted to Associate. Anthony joined as a graduate in 2013, successfully completed his APC in 2015 and is now specialising in dilapidations, RCAs and tenant alterations.

David Smith, Malcolm Smith and Rory Cullens are promoted to Associate.

David is an Environmental specialist in due diligence, contaminated land investigation and risk assessment, remediation, environmental permitting and environmental management. He is a Practitioner Member of the Institute of Environmental Assessment and Management (PIEMA) and an Operational Team Member of the 2050 Climate Group.

Malcolm is past Chair of the RICS Matrics in Glasgow and was shortlisted for Young Surveyor of the Year at the 2016 RICS Matrics Awards. Rory joined Malcolm Hollis in 2015 in London before relocating ‘home’ to Glasgow in 2016. Both have experience across all core areas of building surveying with a particular interest in dilapidations and project management.

Kellie Wakefield is promoted to Senior Associate. Kellie specialises in project services working with clients such as Columbia Theadneedle, Liverpool City Council and University of Central Lancashire.

Karl Stansbie is promoted to Partner. Karl has been with Malcolm Hollis since 2013 when he joined as a graduate Building Surveyor. Karl specialises in dilapidations and project management and works with clients including Columbia Threadneedle Investments, Aberdeen Standard and Legal & General Investment Management, amongst others. Karl recently took part in the L&G Cycle to MIPIM helping raise over £5,000 for Coram.

Three promotions to Senior Associate; Dan Felgate, Nolan Wilkens and Simon Devlin. Dan specialises in landlord and tenant matters acting for clients such as Telereal Trillium, Cadogan Estates and M&G Real Estate. Nolan and Simon specialise in the delivery of technical due diligence advice with Nolan also a member of the RICS Building Surveying Journal Editorial Group.

Four promotions to Senior Chartered Building Surveyors; Joe Hawkins, Michael Brearley, Antony Orchin and Will Jenkins. Michael is a LandAid Ambassador who is taking part in next week’s challenge. Will is heavily involved in our Apprenticeship scheme and currently mentoring one of our apprentices.

Maciej Bednarski is promoted to Senior Engineer within our M&E design team.

Chris Agate is promoted to M&E Associate. Chris has experience across leisure, public, industrial, retail, infrastructure and residential sectors. Colleague Dan Metcalf is promoted to Senior Chartered Building Surveyor. Dan successfully passed the APC in 2017 and now specialises in dilapidations and projects services.

Milton Keynes
Carl Sablon is promoted to Senior Associate. Carl is a specialist in sheds for industrial or commercial use and works with clients including SEGRO and Aberdeen Standard Investments. He joined Malcolm Hollis in London in 2011 as graduate Building Surveyor and relocated to Milton Keynes in 2018. Colleague Jonathan Duckett is promoted to Senior Chartered Building Surveyor.

Rob Asquith, who joined Malcolm Hollis in 2015, is promoted to Senior Chartered Building Surveyor. Rob specialises in technical due diligence and project services.

Richard Morris is promoted to Senior Associate. Richard previously worked in both the Birmingham and Cambridge offices and is now responsible for the delivery of building surveying services for the Nottingham office. Richard specialises in landlord and tenant disputes, building pathology, project services and technical due diligence. Colleague Luke Baxter is promoted to Senior Chartered Building Surveyor. Combined clients include Connells, Calthorpe Estates and Donington Investments Ltd.

Welwyn Garden City
Two specialist CAD Technicians are promoted with Oli Wooding and Steven Mulroy now Senior CAD Technicians. Both specialise in daylight, sunlight and overshadowing and other neighbourly matters.

Also in Welwyn Garden City, Jack Hollis, a member of our Measured Surveys team is promoted to Senior Surveyor.


Business Development
Sam Richardson is promoted to Bid Manager, Molly Beatty to Senior Events Executive, Christine Gould to Business Development Executive and Beth Garland to Brand & Communications Assistant.

Business Support
Jade Pitt and Louise McBride are now Team Leaders. Esther Piktorov is now Senior Secretary and Isabella Lockwood is promoted to Team Secretary.

In our Manchester office, Nikki Themistocleous and Sarah Lee are both now Senior Secretaries.

Lou Coggins based in our Bristol office is promoted to Senior RCA Coordinator with Emma Ward in Dublin promoted to Senior Administrator.

Business Transformation & Technology
Gurmail Landa and Tommy Foster are promoted to Developers and Stephen Ashford is now Senior Service Desk Analyst.

Sally Gilbert is promoted to Senior Facilities Manager with Alex Davies and Lynsey Pilgrim now Senior Facilities Coordinators.

Mel Short is promoted to Finance Business Analyst.

Hannah Dodd is promoted to Human Resources Manager along with Helene Fleisch to Senior Talent Manager.
