For the third year running, Hollis has been included in Property Week’s exclusive list of the best places in the industry to work, something that we are extremely proud of.
In the last few years we have achieved many industry accolades; EG’s Adviser of the Year and Specialist Adviser of the Year, plus Property Week’s Professional Agency team of the Year. None of these would have happened without the people we have in our business and the culture we have built over the last two decades, that attracts and retains our best talent.
Whilst we all like to think we have got it right and created a happy place to work, having it confirmed by an independent body means a great deal to all of us. Being a good employer shouldn’t be a hard thing to do, but going beyond the norm of providing fun things to do in the office and a decent benefits package takes courage and commitment. To us, being one of the best employers means having a culture where people are comfortable being who they are, where they know they can strive to achieve their very best and have the support of the business every step of the way.
In the last five years we have grown from a team of 150 to a team of over 400, opened offices throughout Europe and introduced a variety of new service lines. As we have grown though, we have made a conscious effort to maintain the ‘Hollis Way’ in every office. On a superficial level, that means always finding the fun with regular socials, company days out and client entertainment, but that isn’t what breeds commitment and dedication. To get the buy in from our employees and keep them with us for the long term we have to be able to offer the chance to grow professionally and personally, provide them with a fun but professional working environment, invest in their expertise, protect their mental and physical wellbeing and show them that we genuinely care about them. This is rooted in our culture that’s built on the idea that people do things better by doing them together and underpinned by our values of being open, energetic, connected and excellent.
